Restraints

Handcuffs and Irons

During any transport, the level of restraints applied will be commensurate with the highest custody grade being transported.

On transport The inmate must be restrained with handcuffs, waist chains with a C and S handcuff cover (black box), and leg irons and transferred in a secure caged vehicle.

All persons incarcerated in the Jail will be handcuffed from behind while being escorted in or out of this facility.

Leg irons are typically used when handcuffs or similar restraints are not sufficient.

But also inside a correctional facility it's best to have the inmates in restraints. Cuffs, legirons and sometime in a straightjacket.

Straitjackets - restrained for the institution - punishment for the prisoner

The officer went back into the next office and came back with this very heavy straitjacket. I was informed that they used the straitjacket to transport ?patients? for the hospital, not only for their safety, but for mine as well, to keep me from hurting myself. They could easily subdue someone themselves, but its made to keep the patient confined in a nice cozy long-term restraint. So I was stripped, my clothes put into a small duffle bag, and I was put into the straitjacket. Now I was a patient in restraints. Next stop at the "padded cell"? Should I stay in bondage for the next hours? days?
